I recently started looking at Podcasts as a way to entertain myself on my commute. Did you know how many podcast options are out there? I solicited suggestions from friends and just poked around and stumbled on my new love, My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. It is a True Crime Comedy Podcast and it is hilarious. I started listening and just couldn’t put it down. Georgia and Karen really start to feel people you just want to be friends with. Just like many of you, I have a commute to work that can range from 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. This podcast has made that commute so much more enjoyable!
I shared this post on Facebook to share my new love of this entertaining True Crime Comedy Podcast. To my surprise and excitement I found others who shared this love already in my circle! In fact, one of my Facebook buddies from back home who I’ve known since middle school, Rebecca Madsen, saw my post about my discovery and is now also obsessed! Sadly we both started listening to their Podcast right after they had been in Orlando. We have already decided if they come back to Florida she is going to come visit and we’ll go to the show together. As Rebecca says, “MFM is so much more than a podcast for me. I feel like they are two of my closest friends that empower me to get through life. I look forward to my commute every day. #fuckpoliteness is something I think we need to teach more.”.
One thing I especially appreciate about this podcast is how openly they discuss so many different topics, specifically the topic of Anxiety. This has helped me do a lot of thinking and learning about my own anxiety. While they are very funny and talk lightly of a lot of things, they are also so very respectful to victims and victims families. The one that will stick in any murderino’s mind is the telling of Jennifer Moray’s story. Her story was originally featured on “I Survived” and then Jennifer came to one of their live shows where she told them how she was touched and honored in their feature of her traumatic experience.
There is amazing My Favorite Murder “merch” out there
On top of their podcast and facebook group they have amazing official swag and unofficial swag. I’m very envious of Rebecca’s recent gift that she received and I may see if I can match her groupie status by getting one of these goodies for myself.
