Have you heard of Goodreads, and if you have, are you on Goodreads? Honestly, at this point I don’t recall how I found out about it. Now I don’t know how I would keep track of my reading without it. Someone may laugh at that statement and think it’s funny that I feel the need to keep track of my reading but seriously, that’s an important thing!
Tracking My Books
I feel like my read list for a year is like a story in itself, and one I can see so much more clearly now once I started using Goodreads! I can see that before I had kids I read about 7 times as many books. Now, if I kept track of all the toddler books I ready that would be many more, but I’m not sure I want to start that.
My “To-Read” list is obscene. Seriously, you must first commit to not judging me before you can go and view my profile and look at it. I’m always adding to it, those fun lists you find of books to read this summer, the best-sellers, the books my friends just finished, and my Book of the Month Club are all ways my to-read list continues to grow and grow. I love to look at my recent updates and see what books others are interested in and see what I have already read, or want to add to my list!
Additional Goodreads Features
There are so many features that I enjoy, such as the recommendations features where Goodreads will give you recommendations based on your shelves, or genres. This can be especially interesting when you look at the recommendations based on your read shelf! These should be books that I would love then, right?
There is a challenge each year to set a goal for books to read. My goal is 24, that’s only 2 a month and should be perfectly attainable! Truly I would love for that number to be 240 as there are so many books in this world I want to read but with two toddlers, I have to be realistic. So, 24 it is.
I also love the feature where they will summarize your year in books. It is certainly no surprise that the most popular book I read was Thirteen Reasons Why, although I also read ReadyPlayer One which will likely be very popular this year!
Come find me here and let’s be friends! I would love to see what YOU are reading.
